Challenges:
The Smart Putting Tool is an innovative digital solution designed to revolutionize golf training by combining biomechanical analysis, real-time feedback, and AI-driven personalization. Targeting amateur golfers, seniors, and coaches, this portable system uses sensor-equipped insoles to monitor putting strokes, detect technical errors, and provide auditory/visual cues for immediate correction. Unlike traditional methods, it enables on-course practice, making advanced training accessible outside labs or elite facilities. Developed by a Spanish-Hungarian consortium, the tool also supports injury prevention and active aging, aligning with EU priorities for sports innovation and digital health.
The project builds on validated Neil® insole technology (TRL 6) and enhances it with machine learning to reach TRL 8. Pilots in Spain (Valencia) and Hungary will test its effectiveness in real-world settings, while a pay-per-use business model ensures affordability for golf clubs and rehab centers. By bridging gaps in golf tech—particularly for putting, which accounts for 40% of strokes—the tool democratizes access to performance analytics and promotes safer, data-driven practice across Europe.
