The I3-INSHAPE Open Call offers an outstanding opportunity for European SMEs to accelerate the commercialization of their innovative solutions for physical activity and healthy lifestyles. This initiative is part of the I3-INSHAPE project, co-funded by the European Union.
This funding opportunity seeks to identify and support interregional European consortia that include up to 24 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from specific EU regions. These selected consortia will collaborate to advance and bring to market innovative solutions that promote active and healthy lifestyles, addressing 4 key areas and 17 specific challenges. Participating SMEs will benefit from financial aid and investment support provided by the I3-INSHAPE Consortium partners to accelerate their innovation process.
The primary objective is to help I3 collaborative projects progress in their technological development, moving from TRL 6 to TRL 9, while also enhancing their capacity to strengthen or establish interregional value chains within the European Union. Selected SMEs will:
- Receive up to €91,500 per consortium to support staff efforts, external expertise, travel, consumables, and pilot testing.
- Gain access to interregional value chains and expand beyond local markets.
- Receive tailored business and investment support
- Collaborate with leading research centers, regional authorities, and industry partners to enhance innovation impact.

Companies registered in eligible European regions within the I3-INSHAPE consortium, namely:
- South Netherlands (NL)
- Lapland (FI)
- Kainuu (FI)
- Päijät-Häme (FI)
- Hungary except Budapest (H11)
- Comunidad Valenciana (ES)
- Catalunya (ES)
When?
The application process started on the 10th of February and is open until the 14th of April 2025. Selected projects will start in June 2025, running until the end of 2026.
