As part of the I3-INSHAPE project, we aim to create a strong European ecosystem that helps sport companies grow faster and more effectively. For this reason, we’re spotlighting innovative SMEs driving change in the sport and vitality sector across Europe. In this interview, we meet Blautic, a Valencia-based company turning advanced sensor data into smart solutions for professionals. Blautic is a Spanish tech company specialising in developing wireless devices with advanced sensors. They apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to extract high-value data in the fields of health, sports and industry. Their unique value lies in turning complex data into useful insights for professionals. We asked Javier Sorianos, CEO of Blautic, to tell us more about who they are and what contribution the i3-INSHAPE project is giving to them.
What kind of solutions or services does Blautic offer? How do you stand out in the market?
We design wearable sensors—like motion sensors and EMG devices—and provide an AI platform called ModelMarket. This platform empowers professionals to build their own data models. What makes us stand out is that we don’t replace the professional—we enable them to lead the analysis with tools adapted to their specific needs.
Could you share a success story where Blautic has made a significant impact in the sports field?
We’ve worked with clubs like Barcelona Tennis Club and federations such as Basque Archery. We developed tech to analyse posture, fatigue, technical gestures, and reaction times in sports like handball, badminton, and table tennis. These projects helped us build a robust machine learning platform based on real-world experience.
How is Blautic involved in the I3-INSHAPE project?
We are involved in two co-developments: one with Eurofitness for injury recovery in fitness and another with Synerplier (Netherlands) for applying our technology to several sports. We also provide our machine learning platform that integrates data from wearables, mobile cameras, and smart textiles.
What is, according to you, the importance of a project like I3-INSHAPE and the broader INSHAPE European Network of Innovation Hubs?
INSHAPE offers us direct access to hubs and sport-tech centres that bring valuable expertise. It’s a great example of how open innovation enables collaboration, product validation and acceleration in the sport and health tech sector.
What are your expectations for the future of Blautic within the I3-INSHAPE project?
We aim for our platform to be widely accessible for companies in the sector. We hope the hubs currently supporting us will also help other sports organisations adopt tech-based solutions for better outcomes.
What’s one key takeaway you’d like people to remember about INSHAPE?
INSHAPE shows how collaboration between science, technology and sport can truly improve people’s health and quality of life. It’s not just about being active, but about doing it right, with innovation as a key tool.
